We are a registered NGO, working since long in the field of social development. We have worked in spheres where people really need the support to overcome the adversities they face in life. A little support goes a long way to set them back in the track of life.
Born to Serve plans to work extensively the field of livelihood training. There are women, who have not been able to study enough to be engaged in office jobs or any specialized jobs. The unfortunate ones who have lost that shelter of a cocooned life either through divorce or the demise of a partner, often see their world falling apart and are compelled to depend on some other family member who treats them as a burden and takes advantage in several ways. Additionally, if the woman has an offspring, the situation becomes worse.
In order to reach out to such women, Born to Serve has plans to initiate Ayah training that will help such women to be self-dependent and at the same time, help the sick, the aged and children. The health department has accepted this and requested to organize this training in all districts of West Bengal. This initiative has already started in Murshidabad and 30 women have been trained who are now having a means of livelihood. This initiative can be replicated in all the districts of West Bengal, which will help not only women, but also the society.
A muri making machine has been installed in Manikjore village, where the women produce muri from paddy. This service is given free of cost. The women bring in their own rice and the produced muri is entirely theirs. They sell this muri in the local market and make a living out of it. The muri is also consumed at their own homes.
We wish to empower women by providing them with ayah training so that they can have a livelihood means of their own. Through our small contribution we wish to inspire all women and empower them. We wish to shower the possibility of self-reliance through training and be a ray of fierce hope for them. The training will help them escape from the cycle of hopelessness and help them be in a world of hope and empowerment.
To empower women by providing them with ayah training
